The way we believe (chapter 3)

The rest of the day was rather boring for Atima. She wandered through different streets of the town, looking for any hint where she had to go or what she should do. She did like to look through the houses windows and see the families settle down for dinner. She loved the smiling, happy faces of the children she saw.

But she was also starting to get anoyed. Annoyed of her friends who did not tell her exactly what she should do. Night had already fallen and it had started to get even colder than in the morning. Atima shivered and tightend her red scarf, hoping it would at least help a bit against the cold. Her breath was making small clowds when she breathed out.
'I think i need to look for a place to stay for the night', she started thinking. 'I don't think I'll find out anything new tonight.' With that decision she made a turn in to an alley. The alley was light sparely and did not look very inviting.
"I made a wrong turn", Atima growled. She just wanted to turn back around when a shadow jumped infront of her. It was the white haired boy from earlier.
"You again?", both of them asked at the same time. The boy stepped back and looked at Atima.
"Are you following me?", he asked and eyed at her.
"No, I'm not." She replied and crossed her arms. "And didn't I tell you you should put on some shoes?" She pointed at his feet. The boy looked at his bear feet.
"None needed", he answered and smiled. "I don't feel the cold." A bit surprised Atima rose an eyebrow. But before she could reply anything, another voice echoed through the alley.

"Hello, mate. Been a long time. Blizzard of '68, I believe. Easter Sunday, wasn't it?" Atima and the boy both turned to where the voice came. Out of the shadow a big, grey-white rabbit appeared.
"Bunny! You're not still mad about that, are ya?" The white haired boy replied. Atima looked between the bunny and the boy, not quite knowing what was going on, exept that these two appairently know eachother. The bunny looked at Atima for a second but than he eyed the boy again.
"Yes, but this is about something else. Fellows!" Suddenly two big haired creatures came out of the shadows as well and shoved the boy into a red sack. The boy was protesting but it was no use. It went all so fast that Atima coulden't really follow. Than all of them were gone and Atima was left alone in the alley, a bit confused of what she just saw.
"Did I just saw how a boy got kidnapped by some... Yetis and a giant bunny?!" She covered her face with her hands. "I have seen a lot in my life but this is something new." She laughed out and started to walk back where she originaly came from. After a short time though she stoped an looked at the ground. 'Should I have tried to help the boy?' She thought to her self. 'Could he have been partwise why I'm here..?' She looked up to the fullmoon from this evening. No clowds were blocking the light that it reflected. 'Thats it. I'll somehow help him... I'll go back and maybe I'll be able to find him with my own portal....' She turned around and wanted to run back to the alley she just walked away from, but she bumped into something and fell to the ground.
"ouch!" She looked up to see what she ran into. "oh, I'm sorry mister." She hadn't had run into something, rather into someone. The man she had run into was tall, had black hair and golden eyes. He was wearing some cind of black robe and his skin looked quite unhealthy to Atima, it almost looked like his skin was grey. The man had an almost evil smirk on his face.

"My dear, what were you doing with the guardian back there?" Atima wasn't quite sure what he was talking about.
"ahm...." She wasn't quite sure what to answer. She just keept looking at the man
'What does he mean with "guardian"?' Somehow she was trying to win some time since she didn't have a good feeling about this man.
The man slightly laughed and turned around.
"Well it doesn't really matter if you know the guardians or not. They will try to...save you anyway." He stared to walk away and winked with his right hand. Something like black dust appeared and started to grab Atima. The black substance surrounded Atima and she coulden't do anything against it.
"NO!" she screamend before she was fully surrounded by the dust. Her own "powers" hadn't returned to herself yet, since whenever she stepes into another "world" like where she was now, it takes time until she has full controll over them again.

Over some hours it appeared, she was held captured in the dust. She didn't know where the man was taking her, nore what he was going to do with her. After some time she was able to hear some noises from the outside. She heard some screams and what appeared to be horses neighing.
'I need to help whoever is out there!' She tried to get out of the dust that was keeping her captured but without success.
Suddenly she started to hear voices.
"....that's all about to change." She heard the voice of the guy who kidnapped her. He was talking to some other people Aitma supposed.
"Oh and how so?" Someone, a man, replied.
"hmmm... how bout we start with this."

Suddenly the dust around Atima was gone and she started to fall. Out of surprise she let out a sream but she cought herself after that and landed with a roll over the floor she just fell on without hurting herself. breathing in and out to brush off the shock from falling she kneed down and looked around. Some black horses which were made out of the same dust as her previous prison were standing guard around her. Five people about 10 meters away from her were gazing her, under them there was the bunny and the white haired boy from earlier. One of them, a man with a long white beard, wearing a red jacket looked up.
"Pitch, what is this all about? What is she doing here?" Atima followed his sight and spoted the man who kidnapped her. He was laughing slighly looking at the group.
"Well she is here so I can have a little bit of fun you could say." Pitch looked at Atima and smiled. "You my dear guardians have to try to saver her."
"Save me?!" Atima yelled at Pitch. "Save me from what? These little horses?"
"little horses? My dear these are my Nightmares. They can show you your worst nightmare."
Atima laughed.
"My worst nightmare? I doubt they or you are able to get into my mind to find out what I am afraid of." She looked at the nightmares. They were quite beautifull if you blend out the fact that they could attack her at any second. She stepped closer to one of them, wanting to pet one. The nightmare backed away, making an open way for her to leave the circle of nightmares which were guarding her. She made her way over to the group of the guardians. They were still staring at her but it didn't bother Atima in any way. SHe just noded at them and looked back to Pitch. Pitch on the otherhand was speachless that one of his nightmares just negelected an order.
"Who or what are you girl", he asked full of anger.
"me?", Atima replied. "My name is Atima Goodwin and appairently I am here to stop you from whatever you are doing"
